SCISSOR SISTERS - RETURN TO OZ
The first album cover below was painted with acrylic paint on a 50x50cm canvas. The song reminded me of old 70’s progressive rock music and early Bowie, so those old album covers were a big influence for this. I wanted to portray something magical, bizarre and welcoming, yet with a sinister undertone.
This album sleeve was printed for the Secret 7” exhibition in London and put out on auction.
This album cover was illustrated using ink pen and then colorized in Photoshop. This song felt joyful, energizing and bright, so this made me wanting to create something with a warm feeling of magic, love and sparkles.
This cover was made using a mixed media technique of photography, photo manipulation and ink illustrations. The song felt very dark and melancholic to me, so I wanted to portray a bleak sense of hopelessness and desolation.
